How to Brew Coffee with an AeroPress

Fast, bold, and endlessly versatile – the AeroPress is a favourite for brewing on the ground or at 30,000 feet. This guide covers the classic method, inverted tricks, and tips for extracting a rich, smooth cup of Jet Bean Coffee wherever you are.

Best For: Rich, concentrated brews; great for travel.

Equipment:

  • AeroPress
  • AeroPress paper filter
  • Scale
  • Timer
  • Coffee grinder

Recipe:

  • Coffee: 20g (medium grind)
  • Water: 80g at 90°C

Steps:

  1. Insert the filter into the cap and rinse with hot water.
  2. Assemble the AeroPress in the inverted position.
  3. Add ground coffee to the chamber.
  4. Start timer and pour 80g of water.
  5. Stir the mixture for 10 seconds.
  6. Attach the cap, wait until 30 seconds, then flip the AeroPress over a cup and press down gently.
  7. Dilute with hot water or milk to taste.
